In a study, the lotion was superior in correcting and/or alleviating conditions described as "dry", "tissue paper-like", "broken and spotted" and "sensitive". Both in rate of improvement and in degree of improvement, the macadamia based product (Impact Skin Repair®) performed better than the proprietary comparative product.

"I thought you would be interested in hearing this feedback from a patient at Hospital recently. I have used the Professional Lotion as a trial on an elderly, obese (borderline bariatric) patient who has been with us for 4 weeks on a 6 week non-weight bearing inpatient admission. She is unable to get out of bed without a lifter, has excoriation under both breasts that disclosed raw epidermis, under a tummy fold, in the rolls of skin under both arms and in bilateral axillar. Additionally she has skin tears on both legs, been on prednisone that makes her skin fragile and prone to damage.

I mentioned that I use this lotion at home and in my oil blends (another story). The daughter who is an RN and works in another Hospital agreed for her mum to trial the lotion for a week and to see if it made difference. The lotion was put in all affected areas, twice daily, including after her daily shower/wash. Thinly applied with sterile gloves, it took approximately 25g of lotion each time. Lotion was applied to skin tears and then covered with a sterile dressing.

The trail commenced on the Monday and by Wednesday morning ALL the excoriation has all but disappeared, the skin tears showed noticeable changes in their appearance. The patients' demeanor had changed from extremely negative about her hospital stay and all that is involved in that to one of a more positive one.
